Why Doctoral Colloquium?
The Doctoral Colloquium is a forum in which doctoral students meet and discuss their work with each other and a panel of experienced researchers and faculty members.
The NUM Doctoral Colloquium is intended to bring together doctoral students working on the related topics, to provide them a friendly forum and an opportunity to present, discuss and illustrate their ongoing research in a constructively critical and informal atmosphere, to obtain valuable feedback from participants, particularly senior researchers and experts in the field.
Additionally, the colloquium is meant to facilitate the interaction and collaboration with other researchers. If you are a doctoral student, who is currently working on a dissertation, this is a good place for your presentation. Doctoral students who have not defended their research proposal are invited to participate in the NUM Doctoral Colloquium. This colloquium will be open to students at any level of study.
Doctoral students are required to submit a brief summary of their work (2-3 pages), along with the requesting form to the School of Graduate Studies for scheduling the colloquium session. The NUM doctoral colloquium will be scheduled very two week on Friday from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm, iLab room, building C.
The Colloquium committee will be selected from NUM research team, approximately 7-9 members. However, all management and staff of the School of Graduate Studies are required to active participate in every session of the colloquium.
